Doable Claw vs Semrush

Semrush measures everything. We measure one thing properly.

An excellent SEO suite with an AI Visibility Toolkit attached — 25 custom prompts, tracked daily, $99 a month per domain. We do none of the SEO and all of the asking.

So who are we?

Most AI visibility tools hand you a number. A score out of a hundred, a visibility index, a line that moved last week. What almost none of them hand you is the evidence underneath it — the answers the engines actually gave, how many times they were asked, and where the questions came from in the first place.

DoableClaw is built the other way round. Five questions, asked three times on each of four engines, and every one of those sixty answers kept in full on a link you can send to anyone. The number is a claim; the answer is what makes it checkable.

What DoableClaw actually does today

It finds the questions your buyers already ask — from Reddit threads, People-Also-Ask entries, search volume, the rivals already ranking, and your own Search Console — then asks each one twelve times across Google AI Overviews, Gemini, ChatGPT and Perplexity. Sixty are tested against quality gates and five survive as your locked benchmark, so next month measures the same five rather than a freshly chosen set.

The rival names are read out of the answers rather than typed in at setup, every figure prints the number of answers behind it, and a brand named once in three runs is re-asked nine more times before that counts as anything.

And the edge of it, stated here rather than discovered later: briefs and drafts — handing back the page itself rather than naming it — are in build and not shipped. Today you get the gap, the page or thread, and the evidence. What goes on the page is still yours to write.

Doable Claw vs Semrush

What Semrush actually does

Semrush is one of the biggest SEO suites there is: keyword research, backlinks, rank tracking, site audits, ads and content tools in one login. If you run a full SEO programme, it is a serious product and nothing here argues otherwise.

The AI Visibility Toolkit is the AI-era addition. On their own pricing page it is $99 a month per domain billed annually, and it covers 25 custom prompts with daily AI rankings, one domain for brand performance, mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, competitor analysis, prompt research and a site audit for AI readiness. Bundled into Semrush One, Starter is $199 a month and raises that to 50 prompts.

It also scores sentiment, produces an AI Visibility Score, and generates recommendations. Behind it sits a prompt database in the hundreds of millions, which is a data asset we have nothing comparable to.

One question to ask any tool in this market

How many times did you ask? SparkToro and Gumshoe repeated the same prompts across ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI nearly 3,000 times, and two runs of one prompt returned the same list of brands less than once in a hundred. A separate 2026 study found gaps under roughly 5–7 points were indistinguishable from measurement noise.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Runs per prompt not published

25 prompts, daily AI rankings, $99/mo per domain

*Semrush publishes the prompt count and the cadence — 25 custom prompts with daily AI rankings — but not how many times each prompt is asked per reading. We are not going to derive a number we cannot support, so the honest entry in the table is "not published". Ask them. It is the same question we invite people to ask us, and our answer is three runs per engine, twelve answers per question, with nine more runs before a single lucky mention counts.

We ran it on ourselves first

A comparison page that only contains good news about the company that wrote it is worth nothing.

  1. Semrush is second in this category and we are nowhere. On the five AEO questions we track for this market, across 59 answers, Semrush was named 29 times — behind only Profound on 31. DoableClaw was named zero times. Our own tool, reporting on us.
  2. An older version of this page said we write drafts. It listed "writes the brief and the draft: yes, with sources" and priced a Growth plan that does not exist. Briefs and drafts are in build and not shipped. We removed the claim rather than wait to be caught by it.
  3. We rank ninety-first for our own category. "ai brand checker" brings us 94 impressions a month and we sit at position 91.4. The page exists and it is the right page — it simply has no standing yet.
  4. Four things they have that we do not. The SEO suite, a prompt-demand database, sentiment, and 25 tracked prompts against our five. If you already pay for Semrush, adding their toolkit is the cheaper move and we would say so.

Which one fits your team

There is a real case for both, and for most teams they are not the same purchase.

Pick Semrush if Pick Doable Claw if
You already run a full SEO programme and want AI tracking on the same bill You want to know a number is real before you believe it — twelve answers sit behind each one
You want 25 to 50 prompts of breadth rather than depth on five You want to read the answers and hand the link to somebody sceptical
You want sentiment, prompt-demand data and one reporting stack You are still working out whether this matters, and want to start free

Common questions

The things people ask before they pick one.

Should I drop Semrush for this? +

Almost certainly not. Semrush does keyword research, backlinks, rank tracking and site audits, and we do none of those. If you are running an SEO programme, keep it. The question is whether its 25-prompt AI module is the measurement you want, or whether you also want to read the answers.

How much is the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit? +

$99 a month per domain, billed annually, for 25 custom prompts with daily AI rankings and one domain of brand performance analysis. Semrush One Starter at $199 a month bundles it with the SEO tools and raises the limit to 50 prompts. Those are their own published figures as of 12 September 2026.

How many times does Semrush run each prompt? +

They publish the cadence, daily, but not the number of runs per reading. We are not going to guess. It is a fair question to put to them, and to us — our answer is three per engine, with nine more before a single mention counts.

Do you do keyword research? +

No. Not keywords, not backlinks, not rank tracking, not site audits. We connect to your Search Console to read what you already rank for and name the URL behind each question, but that is a reading of your data, not a research suite.

Why only five questions when Semrush tracks twenty-five? +

Sixty are tested and five survive the gates — the ones a buyer would type, that separate one vendor from another, and that the engines answer with real retrieval. The other fifty-five are shown with the reason each was rejected. It is a deliberate trade: five asked twelve times cannot tell you your standing across a category, and twenty-five asked once cannot tell you whether a move was real.

Why does the number of runs matter? +

AI answers are non-deterministic. SparkToro and Gumshoe repeated the same prompts nearly 3,000 times and found two runs of one prompt returned the same brand list less than once in a hundred. A point built from one answer is one draw from that.

Can I use both? +

That is the common setup and it is a sensible one. Semrush for the SEO programme and the breadth; DoableClaw as the free audit you run first and the deeper reading on the questions that decide a shortlist.
