Competitor Tracking

See how you rank against top companies.

Uncover competitor share of voice and learn why AI answers recommend them over you.

  • Named instead of you

Every brand an assistant recommended on your questions, ranked by how many answers it appears in. Read out of the answers, not from a list you gave us.

  • Head to head

The questions where you and one rival both show up. On a real run that was 4 questions, against 24 where only they did.

  • Cited alongside

The pages cited in the same answers that named them. That is where the assistant was reading. It is not proof of why it picked them.

  • What you can take

About half the cited pages are ones you could get onto. A rival's own site never is, so it is marked rather than counted as an opportunity.

The other side

The names the answers used, and what was open beside them

Every panel ends in an answer you can read. These numbers are from one real run of 58 answers.

A ranked list of the rival names the answers used, with how many answers each appears in.

01 Not the competitor list you wrote

These are the brands the assistants named on your questions. On this run Shiprocket appeared in 32 of 58 answers and Delhivery in 30, against the domain's own 9. Some names will not be direct competitors at all. The answer treats them as the alternative anyway.

A head-to-head view comparing the brand and one rival question by question.

02 Head to head is a short list

Pick one rival and you only see the questions where you both appear. On this run that was four questions, plus twenty-four more where only they were named. Those two lists need different work. One is a position fight. The other is not being there at all.

An opened answer showing in full how a rival was recommended, with the sources it cited.

03 Read the answer that beat you

Open any row and you get the whole answer. How it described them, whether it described you, which assistant and which run, and every source it cited. About 4,400 characters, nothing cut.

The pages cited in the same answers that named a rival, listed against that rival.

04 What was cited in the same answers

Behind each mention are the pages that answer cited. Their own site shows up most. After that come pages you could get onto. This is what the assistant was reading, not proof of why it chose them, and we will not pretend otherwise.

FAQ

Questions people actually type

What people ask when they see a name they did not expect.

How do I find out which competitors AI recommends? +

Ask AI the questions your buyers ask and note which brands the answers name. That is exactly what we do: 5 locked questions, 4 AI platforms, 3 runs each, with every brand counted once per answer.

Why does AI recommend a competitor over me? +

Often it read your page and still picked them. In one real run, the company's own site was cited in 9 of the 32 answers that named its top rival. AI took facts from their site and recommended someone else. That is usually a formatting problem, and writing more pages won't fix it.

Are these the competitors I listed? +

No, and that is on purpose. The names come straight from the AI answers. Some will be brands you have never tracked, and a few may not even be real competitors, but AI still presents them to your buyers as alternatives to you.

Can I track one specific competitor? +

Yes. Pick one and you'll see only the questions where both of you appear, which is a much shorter list than your whole category. In one real run, that was 4 shared questions, against 24 where only the competitor showed up.

What do I do with a page that cited them? +

First check whether you can get onto it. About half of cited pages are open to you, like reviews, "best of" lists and forum threads. A rival's own website never is, which is why we sort pages by who owns them before matching any brand names.

Does the source cause the mention? +

We don't claim that. We show you the pages the same answer cited while naming them. That is useful, but it isn't proof, and right now nobody in this field can show that one page directly caused one recommendation.

Does this work if nobody leads my category? +

It is even more useful there. If the top brand only shows up in a third of answers, your category is still open, and the question becomes which buyer questions to win rather than who to beat. Every share is shown against the total number of answers, so you can see how open it really is.
